Winter -  Brandon's direwolf, whose namesake came from its white coat and stunning blue eyes. Winter was badly injured during the war in the north.  Brandon perished, but Winter somehow made it home despite being gravely injured.  Emiren nursed him back to health, but Winter is badly maimed and moves with a limp. It is said Winter returned with Brandon's sprit inside of him, because of how he is protective of Emiren and her children.  Winter is still the largest (the size of a war horse) and the progenitor for this generation of direwolves.

Howler -  The stunted direwolf of Godric's third son.  Howler is no bigger than your typical hound, but its howl is bigger than its bite.  As a pup, Howler was unafraid and so loud that he could cow his brother Winter who was three times as larger than him.

Bandit -  Benric Stark's blue-black and white direwolf, who earned her nickname for stealing table scraps as a pup then stealing game from hunter's later on as an adult. Clever and haughty, Bandit is Winter's mate and the mother of Regal and Snow.

Brandon and Emiren's children have two pups,  Snow and Regal.   Snow is a much akin to her father, Winter.  She has the same blue eyes, and judging by her current size, it seems likely she'll grow to be as big as Winter.  The other is Regal who resembles neither of his parents.  His fur is silver with a white underbelly, his eyes blue.    Regal's name comes from his princely demeanor.

Weirwood -  Weirwood is brown, with a white and brown face that looks like the godswood, which is where his namesake comes from.  Weirwood belongs to Rickon III Stark and is the oldest of the living direwolves.    Weirwood is the father of Winter, Bandit, Howler, and Loyalty.  His mate was Godric's direwolf, Grace.   Weirwood is old and arthritic, but still has some fight in him when it is needed.  Most days he does not do much else besides lay around.  He is the size of a pony.

Loyalty -  Gray with gold eyes, Loyalty belonged to Joren Stark, who died in a battle beyond the Wall.  Loyalty is wild now and roams the Lands of Always Winter. The brothers of the Night's Watch say Loyalty will aid loyal brothers of the Night's Watch, and eats oathbreakers.  Previously Loyalty mated with Edric's oldest son's direwolf, Midnight, producing a sickly litter with only two survivors.

Summer -  The smallest of all the direwolves, and belongs to Lana Stark.  Summer is just the size of a normal wolf but is still young.    She is orange, russet, and sharp gray in color.  She is beautiful and spirited, and has a mean bite.

Midnight -   Midnight belongs to Edric's oldest son and is named Midnight for its black fur and gray eyes.    Midnight is the mother of Moonsinger and Zephyr.

Moonsinger and Zephyr -  Moonsinger is black and gray, and has an almost musical howl and can sing with minstrels if prompted by its mistress.     Zephyr is a white with black patches with vibrant yellow eyes.  They are owned by Edric Stark's daughters.
