GENERAL RULES

  • Leave your drama at the door.  When you come here, it's to play and have fun.

  • If drama develops that needs to be addressed, speak to a moderator.  Do NOT go around involving everyone or you will be removed.

  • Please do not apply for a head of house, heir, or other important slot if you cannot roleplay at least twice a week.

  • If you are going to be gone for a week or longer, notify a mod ahead of time so we can all work around each other's schedules.

  • This is not a full-time obligation for players or mods, but we do expect story progression and some commitment/interest.  Please understand that this is a hobby and play may not occur every single night.  We urge players to start their own scenes to help out the mods and themselves.

  • Do not cross role-play.  This means don't cheat by giving your characters knowledge that he/she shouldn't have.  This also means not to let your OOC prejudice/wants change your character's actions.

  • LOG YOUR SCENES.  They don't have to be edited, but they do have to be posted on the forum in a timely manner so that everyone is on the same page.

  • Most importantly:  HAVE FUN!

CHARACTERS & NPC'S

  • Because great house spots are so limited, we ask that no one have more than three great house main branch spots for the time being.  We may add/remove spots at our discretion, or when a need presents itself.  Cadet lines and cousins in main families are not counted as great houses.

  • Please consider making a banner house or retainer character if he/she does not need to be from a great house.

  • There are plot device and "NPC" characters that you might be able to take over or occasionally play.  Ask a mod!

  • You can request for a NPC to be added with your character, such as a squire or lady-in-wait or a septa, etc.  The distinction between the two is that  NPC's PB's are flexible.  This means someone can still apply with that PB if they want to.  If you want to keep the PB, they count as a character.

  • If a certain PB has different looks, please consider sharing the PB.  For example, Richard Armitage in the Hobbit and in Robin Hood look like different people.  Or Orlando Bloom from Pirates of the Caribbean and in Lord of the Rings.  Not required, just a request.

  • If the character isn't very important (such as a NPC or filler character you have no attachment to), please aim for an obscure PB.

  • We don't have a longterm reserve list for PB's because of problems with hoarding we've had in the past.  We will only hold PB's for you for 3-4 days while you are apping.  If we feel you are making characters too quickly or that you have an excessive amount, you will be asked to slow down.

COMBAT

  • We use a dice system to determine the outcome in combat situations.  The only exception is when all parties involved agree to the battle's outcome beforehand (this must also be approved by a mod).  All characters will be assigned dice by the moderators, even non-combatant characters.

  • Yes, your character can die.  No, the goal isn't to kill your character.  But if your character challenges another person to a Trial by Combat or does anything that would logically warrant death, then it's going to happen.

  • Valyrian Steel and dragons do not add a dice bonus.  Direwolves have their own dice, and may change its master's tier for power balance.

  • If you are given a rare ability or creature or weapon, it is because we are choosing to trust you.  For abilities like green dreams and dragon dreams, we will be much more selective to prevent cross roleplaying.
